HUGE BLAZE BREAKS OUT AT AVONMOUTH EVRI PARCEL DEPOT

A huge fire has broken out at a parcel depot run by courier firm Evri in Avonmouth, Bristol, with the smoke visible for miles.

Avon Fire and Rescue has urged locals to keep their windows and doors shut as thick plumes of smoke poured into the sky.

The parcel depot is located at the Access 18 industrial estate around seven miles from Bristol city centre.

Images shared on social media showed the flames licking at the rear of a car as stacks of parcels were consumed by the bonfire.

'Are we going to get evacuated?' one person asks in footage shared online.

'We're definitely going to get evacuated,' someone else asks off camera.

The fire service said: 'We currently have 16 appliances in attendance at a warehouse fire in Avonmouth.

'If you live and work in the local area, we'd advise you to keep your windows and doors shut. More updates to follow.'

MailOnline has contacted the service, and Evri, for further comment.
