  • The 19-year-old, who attends Arkansas State University, needed to be 25

A 19-year-old college student has issued a warning to fellow travelers to double check their reservations after she and her friends drove 10 hours to an Airbnb - only to be denied entry because they weren't 25.

Kinley Siepert frequently showcases her day-to-day life on her TikTok account, where she boasts more than 3,500 followers.

Recently, she took to the video-sharing platform to reveal that she and her pals drove 10 hours for a trip but were unable to enter their Airbnb because they were too young.

The teen, who attends Arkansas State University, cautioned people on the web to not make the same mistakes as she shared that her booking required her to be 25.

Kinley shared the mishap in a now viral video, which has so far amassed more than 4.8 million views, alongside a caption that read: 'Send help!'

In the clip, the content creator and her pals were all seated on outdoor sun loungers.

'Us after we drove 10 hours to the beach and our Airbnb won't let us check in because we aren't 25,' the college student said.

While you can book and host an Airbnb at the age of 18, there are some age restrictions, which were set in place in 2022, that some travelers are still unware of.

According to Airbnb, 'US guests under the age of 25 with less than three positive reviews are not able to book entire home listings that are close to where they live. These guests can still book any type of listing outside their local area.'

'All guests under the age of 25 are still free to book private rooms and hotel rooms through Airbnb, regardless of where they live,' it added.

'Most importantly, younger guests with at least three positive reviews and no negative reviews on Airbnb or with long-term plans are not subject to this restriction, and they're welcome to continue to book entire home listings in their local area.'

So, guests under the age of 25 who don't have more than three positive reviews could end up in a similar situation as Kinley.

In a later comment, Kinley did share the group ended up making it into the Airbnb, but did not provide any further details.

'Don't worry guys we are good we got in now,' she wrote.

People flooded the comments section of the 19-year-old's video as many shared they had no clue that it was rule.

One person said: 'If we can die in war, we should be able to check into an Airbnb.'

Someone else wrote: 'What I don't get is that we turn 18 and become "adults" but can't drink, can't rent a hotel, can't rent a car, can't do anything on our own?'

Another user added: 'I'm 23 and it's so embarrassing to have my husband check into these things. Like I'm married and a whole adult and you won't let me check in because I'm not 25?!

One user commented: 'When I turned 25 I just felt relieved because I had hit the age where I'm probably allowed to do most things now.'

A commenter wrote: 'Went on a trip once when we got to the hotel they said we couldn't check in bc we weren't 21 but you can book a room there at 18? Like huh?'
